July 2026 Special Meeting Minutes

GARNAVILLO PUBLIC LIBRARY

SPECIAL BOARD MEETING Minutes           Friday – July 10, 2026 at 4 PM

Roll Call: Present- Lisa Robinson, Matt Meier, Cathy McLane, Sharon Schmelzer and June Wolter.       Absent- Lu Kahle

New Business

Closed Session – Employment Matters- Lisa made amotion and Sharon 2^nd to go into closed session. Motion unanimously approved.

Lisa and Cathy interviewed, Ian Burr, Russell Werges and Tiffani Brandt on July 6^th,2026 for the Library Director position. After discussion by the Board, a motion by Sharon and 2^nd by Matt was made to hire Tiffani Brandt to fill the Library Director in training position when current Director June Wolter retires. Motion was unanimously approved. The Board will be sad to see June leave but wish her the very best.

 End Close Session – Open Public Meeting. A motion by Sharon and 2^nd by Matt to end closed session. Motion unanimously approved

Other Business- The new Director in training, Tiffani Brandt, will start working and training with Director June Wolter on Aug. 10,2026 until June retires in November. Offering starting pay at $17.00 per hour.                                                                                                                                                 

With no other business a motion by Matt and 2nd by Sharon was made to adjourn the meeting. Motion unanimously approved. Meeting adjourned at 4:30pm
